Nigerian Immigration Service Confirms Bobrisky’s Arrest at Seme Border

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has confirmed the arrest of popular social media personality, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, widely known as Bobrisky.

The arrest took place at the Seme border, which lies between Nigeria and Benin Republic.

Rumors had initially spread on social media after activist VeryDarkMan, alleged that Bobrisky was arrested late Sunday night while attempting to flee the country.

According to the activist’s claims, Bobrisky was trying to cross over into Benin Republic when Nigerian authorities apprehended him.

In an official statement posted on its X (formerly Twitter) page, the Nigerian Immigration Service addressed the situation, confirming the arrest. The statement read:

“In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, otherwise known as Bobrisky, at the Seme Border due to an attempt to exit the country.”

The NIS further revealed that Bobrisky is currently a person of interest concerning recent public issues.

While undergoing interrogation, he will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.

The Immigration Service reassured the public of its dedication to maintaining professionalism and civility in its duty of protecting Nigeria’s borders, emphasizing that it will continue to execute its responsibilities with utmost care and precision.

This incident has sparked discussions across social media, as Bobrisky is no stranger to the public eye, often making headlines for his controversial lifestyle and bold online presence.

However, the exact details surrounding why he is a “person of interest” remain unclear for now, leaving many to speculate about the reasons behind his attempted departure and subsequent arrest.
