Meet New Binance CEO As Zhao Resigns

Richard Teng has stepped into the role of CEO at Binance, the biggest cryptocurrency company worldwide valued at $60 billion. He succeeded the founder, Changpeng Zhao, who left due to legal issues. The announcement about Teng’s new position was made by Changpeng Zhao through a social media post.
Teng, in response, showed his dedication to guiding Binance, focusing on users and the company’s goal of financial freedom. With a promise to ensure Binance’s financial stability, safety, and adherence to rules, Teng aims to work closely with regulators, promote innovation, and drive the company’s growth.
Teng’s extensive experience in finance and regulation spans more than 30 years, including leadership roles at Binance Singapore, ADGM, Singapore Exchange, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
He holds academic qualifications, including a Master’s in Applied Finance from the University of Western Australia and a First Class Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University.
