I Inherited Many Challenges – Taraba Governor

Taraba

The Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has revealed that upon the assumption of the Office as Governor, he inherited many challenges from his predecessor.

Agbu made this known on Wednesday, 22 November 2023, when he received a report by the Obadiah Ando-led Committee on the streamlining of ministries, departments, and government agencies at the Government House in Jalingo.

The governor maintained that a lot of things were not right in the state, stressing that the absence of a master plan was impeding proper planning and projections.

Responding, the former minister stated that they embarked on a herculean task, adding that the report took note of the details on how to streamline MDAs to avoid unnecessary repetition of duties and overlapping.

While addressing the unbundling of some government ministries, Ando said that payments of salaries ought to be the responsibility of the Accountant General’s office as opposed to the Office of the Head of Service.

Reacting to the report further, the Governor assured the committee of implementing all the recommendations and charged civil servants in the state to be diligent for effective service delivery. The Ando-led committee consists of the former Head of Service of the Federation, Danladi Kifasi, Chief of Staff to Taraba Governor, Dr. Jeji Williams, former Taraba state Head of Service, Augustine Banzing, and many others.
