Leicester City and Kelechi Iheanacho Cut Ties After Seven Years

Leicester City has confirmed the departure of Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho after seven years together. The 27-year-old, who is currently in Uyo with the Nigeria national team, will leave the club along with Marc Albrighton and Dennis Praet.

Kelechi, who signed from Manchester City in August 2017, has scored 61 goals in Leicester colours, including the winner against his former club in the FA Community Shield final at Wembley in August 2021.

The 27-year-old, who is part of the Foxes team that aided the club’s return to the Premier League by winning the Championship title this season, has also won the Community Shield and FA Cup with the club.

The club remains in discussions with midfielder Wilfred Ndidi regarding his future beyond the expiration of his current contract this month.
