Kano Pillars Football Club’s management has taken a decisive step by announcing the immediate suspension of the team’s technical adviser Abdullahi Maikaba, on Tuesday.
This move comes in response to recent developments, including Maikaba’s critical remarks about the management during a meeting organized by Kano Pillars supporters at the state press centre, Kano.
The decision to suspend Maikaba was preceded by the formation of a committee tasked with investigating the coach’s performance and recommending further action.
It seems that Maikaba’s comments about the working environment have stirred controversy, as he expressed dissatisfaction with the conditions since the beginning of the current season.
“I need a conducive environment to work. The current environment is not conducive in Kano. I’m discussing with the management in days. If it warrants terminating the contract, I will do that,” Maikaba stated, highlighting the severity of the situation.
As a former Enugu Rangers gaffer, Maikaba’s tenure at Kano Pillars has been marked by challenges, and his recent statements have only added fuel to the fire.
The management’s decision to suspend him underscores the gravity of the situation and their commitment to addressing issues affecting the club’s performance.
While the investigation unfolds, stakeholders and fans alike await the outcome of the committee’s findings and the subsequent actions that will be taken.
