I Don’t Believe in Anti-Party, Realignment, Governor Sule Tells APC Assembly Candidates

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has urged All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates contesting the state House of Assembly elections to remain loyal to the party, warning them against engaging in anti-party activities or political realignment.

Sule made the call while addressing APC House of Assembly candidates in Lafia, where he stressed the importance of teamwork and collective mobilisation ahead of the elections.

The governor said the party’s success at the polls would depend largely on the ability of its candidates and members to work together and campaign for the APC across their respective constituencies.

“It is extremely important you know that we go out there and work as a team. It is the teamwork that will give us the victory,” Sule said.

He warned the candidates against supporting candidates of other parties while seeking election under the APC, stressing that having lawmakers without an APC governor could create serious political challenges for the state.

“If you have members of House of Assembly and you don’t have a governor, you will understand how bad it is. I’m begging you in the name of God, don’t get involved in that,” he said.

The governor added, “When you are campaigning, campaign for APC. I don’t believe in this anti-party, I don’t believe in this realignment.”

Sule also urged the candidates to take advantage of projects and programmes executed by his administration across their constituencies as key campaign points.

According to him, the administration has implemented projects across the state, giving APC candidates sufficient achievements to present to voters during their campaigns.

“In every constituency, this administration has done enough for you to use as your campaign material. There is nowhere you will go that you will say that we have not touched that area,” he said.

He maintained that the achievements of the administration placed APC candidates in a strong position to campaign effectively against their opponents.

Sule also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, crediting the Federal Government’s reforms and resource allocation with enabling his administration to execute projects and programmes across Nasarawa State.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done well,” Sule said, adding that the President had provided the resources through his reforms to enable the state government to deliver projects that could serve as campaign evidence for APC candidates.

The governor’s comments come as the APC intensifies mobilisation ahead of the elections, with the party leadership seeking to strengthen unity and prevent internal divisions that could affect its electoral prospects.
