2027: Wike, Chinda, Others Hold Strategic Meeting in Spain Without Fubara

—

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and key stakeholders of the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State have reportedly held a strategic meeting in Spain ahead of the 2027 general elections.

However, Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, who recently aligned himself with the coalition, was notably absent from the meeting.

Those reportedly in attendance included the Executive Director of Projects and Infrastructural Development at the South-South Development Commission, Chief Marcus Nle Ejii; the Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Senator Mao Ohabunwa; and the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in the state, Kingsley Ogundu Chinda.

Although details of the meeting were not made public, the gathering is believed to be connected to political strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wike had recently endorsed Chinda, a member of the House of Representatives, as his preferred candidate to succeed Fubara as governor of Rivers State.
