High Profile Terrorist Commander Surrenders as Troops Record Major Wins Across Nigeria

The Defence Headquarters has announced that a notorious terrorist commander, Ibn Ali, has surrendered to Nigerian troops along with his weapons and ammunition in Bama Local Government Area, Borno State.
This was made known by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, in a statement released on Saturday in Abuja.
According to the statement, the surrender took place during military operations carried out between July 4 and July 10 across key areas including Platari, Sambisa Forest, and the Timbuktu Triangle.
During these operations, many terrorists were killed, while others including men, women, and children surrendered as the military intensified its efforts in the region.
Troops also carried out operations in various parts of Borno State, including Gwoza, Kaga, Mafa, Ngala, Abadam, Biu, Konduga, Damboa, and Dikwa LGAs, as well as in Madagali LGA of Adamawa State.
 In these areas, several terrorists were neutralised, five collaborators were arrested, and four kidnapped victims were rescued.
 The military also recovered arms, ammunition, and safely detonated improvised explosive devices (IEDs). In addition, N822,500 was recovered during the operations.
General Kangye stated that the Armed Forces of Nigeria, working alongside Hybrid Forces and other security agencies, stepped up both combat and non-combat strategies across the country with impressive results.
In the North-West, the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, in collaboration with ground troops, carried out a major airstrike on July 10 in Zamfara State, killing several terrorist leaders and commanders. Troops also arrested five terrorists and rescued two kidnap victims.
In the North-Central region, troops of Operation Safe Haven killed several violent extremists, arrested 18 others, and rescued seven kidnapped victims in Plateau State. They also seized weapons, ammunition, a vehicle, and motorcycles.
On July 6, troops on patrol arrested a militia member hiding in ambush along the Kafi-Abu-Rakwok Road in Barkin Ladi LGA. He was caught with a locally made AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and 30 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
In Benue and Taraba states, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke neutralised more extremists in Makurdi, Guma, Katsina-Ala, Karim Lamido, Takum, and Jalingo LGAs. They also arrested eight suspects and rescued two kidnapped individuals.
In the South-South, troops of Operation Delta Safe prevented oil theft worth over N263.8 million. This included the recovery of 198,482 litres of stolen crude oil, 63,846 litres of illegally refined diesel (AGO), and 947 litres of petrol (PMS).
Troops also destroyed illegal refining sites and arrested eight suspected oil thieves, seizing weapons, boats, and other equipment.
In the South-East, troops of Operation UDO KA arrested a sponsor and logistics supplier linked to the IPOB/ESN group operating in Mother Valley, Ihiala LGA, Anambra State. Four more suspected IPOB/ESN members or informants were arrested in Ihiala and Ehime Mbano LGAs of Anambra and Imo States, respectively.
