The Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has distributed a portion of the 36,000 50kg bags of assorted grains provided by the Federal Government to aid resettled communities and vulnerable families in the state.

The distribution, held in Pulka town, saw 10,000 residents each receiving a 50kg bag of assorted grain, on Sunday.

Governor Zulum expressed gratitude to the federal government for the timely donation, emphasizing its crucial importance.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Governor Zulum thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the significant gesture on behalf of the people of Borno State.
“Let me express my sincere appreciation on behalf of the government and people of Borno State to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this great gesture. This is not the only support that we received from him. We have received tremendous support from the President in the last one year.”
He highlighted the ongoing support received from the President, acknowledging the continuous aid over the past year.
Additionally, Zulum mentioned that the federal government had also donated rice to Borno, with deliveries ongoing.

Furthermore, Governor Zulum supervised the distribution of N220 million cash to 22,000 vulnerable women and widows in Pulka ward, Gwoza Local Government Area.

Each woman received N10,000 cash support and a wrapper. Zulum stated that aside from the federal government’s food donations, the Borno State government was also providing financial aid and clothing to the beneficiaries.
The recipients were selected from Pulka, Ngoshe, Warabe, and Kirawa communities of Gwoza Local Government Area.
Accompanying Governor Zulum were various officials, including Hon Ahmed Jaha, the member representing Gwoza, Damboa, and Chibok at the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdullahi Buba Abatcha, the member representing Gwoza at the State House of Assembly, and Ahmed Sirajo, Northeast Zonal Coordinator of NEMA, among others.
