The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, spoke to the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, about the big problem of hunger and not having enough food in the country.Â
He said that even though there are many ways to talk to the government about these problems, talking to her was the best way to make sure President Bola Tinubu knows what’s really happening in the country.
He said, “The hunger and not having enough food didn’t start with this government, but it’s gotten worse, and we need to do something about it very quickly.”
He also asked her to tell President Tinubu to do something about the insecurity in the country.
He said, “The insecurity problem is very serious. I know it was already a problem before this government, but we need to do more to stop it.”
The Emir also talked about how people are worried about the government moving some important offices like the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to Lagos.
“We are receiving series of messages from our people. One of such messages is the much talked about relocation of CBN and FAAN to Lagos. I think the government should come out clean on this matter and talk to Nigerians in the language they would understand.
He said, “People are confused about why the government wants to move these offices to Lagos. We need the government to explain it clearly to everyone.”
He also asked the President’s wife to make sure her program, the Renewed Hope Initiative Pet Program, happens. He said it could help a lot of poor people if it’s done properly.
