Dammy Krane Admits Mistakes and Begs for Forgiveness After Police Release

—

Nigerian artist Oyindamola Johnson Emmanuel, popularly known as Dammy Krane, has publicly asked for forgiveness from Nigerians following his recent release from police custody.

The singer was detained after repeatedly accusing fellow musician Davido of being involved in the death of his friend, Tagbo.

Dammy Krane’s arrest took place on Thursday, August 22, at the Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja. He was taken into custody on suspicions related to alleged criminal activities. During his time in detention, Dammy Krane took to social media to plead with Nigerians to support him, claiming that his arrest was orchestrated by Davido.

In his words: “I Want to apologize to Nigerians for the negative energy I have put on the media before today. I know a lot was expected of me but I messed up. I wish I can take back the hand of time but only God can, so I will do what I can which is to apologize.

The controversy began after Dammy Krane continuously made defamatory statements against Davido, implicating him in the circumstances surrounding Tagbo’s death. These allegations stirred significant attention online and led to Dammy Krane’s arrest.

After being held for nearly a week, Dammy Krane was released on August 28. Following his release, he shared a series of tweets expressing remorse and admitting his mistakes. He appealed to the Nigerian public, acknowledging that he had “messed up” and asking for their forgiveness.
