Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, has broken the record for the highest-grossing tour by an African artist. His ‘I Told Them’ tour made $15.5 million from 15 shows, with earnings from six more concerts still to be added.

Touring Data, an American tour statistics company, shared this information on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday.

Burna Boy also set the record for the highest-grossing arena concert by an African artist in the United States. His concert at Capital One Arena in Washington on March 7, 2024, made $1.725 million, beating his previous record at TD Garden in Boston.

Additionally, his show at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood on March 12 became the most expensive concert by an African artist, with an average ticket price of $172.76.

His Canadian tour grossed $5.7 million from six shows, setting another record for an African artist.

Touring Data tweeted the following details about his tour:

– $15,469,395 in revenue (average $1,031,293 per show)

– 156,646 tickets sold (average 10,443 per show)

– $98.75 average ticket price

– 15 out of 21 shows reported
