Tragedy struck Shawu village in Faskari LGA, Katsina State, after a Nigerian Air Force airstrike reportedly intended to target bandits mistakenly hit the community.
While eyewitnesses reported multiple casualties, state officials maintained the strike was deliberate and aimed at terrorists in the area.
Katsina’s Commissioner for Internal Security, Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu, and Faskari LGA Chairman, Musa Ado, emphasized that Shawu had become a hub for bandit activities.
Local authorities confirmed four deaths, with the number of injured still being verified.
