Afrobeats singer, Ayra Starr has said she was unaware of any rivalry between her colleagues, Asake and Seyi Vibez.
Though Asake and Seyi Vibez haven’t publicly argued, their fanbases often clash on social media.
In an interview with The Beat FM Lagos, Ayra Starr was asked if she intentionally included both artists on her upcoming album, ‘The Year I Turned 21,’ because of their rivalry. She denied knowing about any rivalry.
She explained that she chose to work with them because she admires their musical talent.
“I didn’t include Asake and Seyi Vibez on my album because of any rivalry,” she said. “I didn’t know about it. I just love their music.”
“I focus on what sounds good. My team considers the business side, but I look at who would be a good match for me musically. I’ve been a fan of Seyi Vibez’s ‘Different Pattern’ for a long time, so I reached out to him. He quickly sent his verse back. Asake did the same, sending his verse in three days.”
