The Anambra State Working Committee, SWC of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA on Tuesday, rose from its joint meeting with the 21 Local Government Party Chairmen of the party, to pass a Vote of Confidence on the leadership of the State Chairman of the party, Chief Sir Ifeatu Obi-Okoye.
The Vote of Confidence was contained in a Communique issued after the joint meeting held yesterday at the Regional Headquarters in Awka, Anambra State Capital.
Recently, the State Chairman of APGA had gone in contrast with the National Leadership of the party over a recent directive he issued about a Support Group in the state, a directive the national leadership revoked.
However, at the meeting, the Anambra APGA highest decision-making body highlighted the immeasurable experience and fatherly dispositions of Chief Obi-Okoye, which they said, has endeared him to members of the SWC as well as party officers at all levels.
They expressed pride in the operational initiatives introduced by the APGA State Chairman, Chief Obi-Okoye, which have brought positive transformation and rebranding of the party at all levels.
The meetings expressed their commitment to serving the party, under the leadership of Chief Obi-Okoye, whose positive strategic reforms have led to the upliftment of APGA, as well as re-established a community of common ownership among party members and supporters alike.
The Communique read further; “The party leadership restates our commitment to collective unity and ethical discipline within the party and to this end, we are committed to reforms that would revitalize and strengthen our operational norms to meet the foundational principles that hitherto, informed the formation of the party in 2022.
“We once more, restate our commitment towards opening up the party to new membership, and to this end, therefore, we must engage a deliberate policy of seeking out new members to enhance and consolidate our electoral superiority.
“We are committed to re-engineering our operational engagement strategy, by taking positive steps at ensuring a more veritable synergy between our numerous support groups and the party hierarchy, with the objective of guaranteeing better operational harmony and synergy, subject to the overriding supremacy of the party, which shall remain the key to the unity and operational harmony of the party, vis-a-vis the numerous support groups.
“We are committed to rebranding the mindset of all party faithful, by inspiring a new attitude geared towards a new political order, which must be founded on a fervent commitment by all party faithful towards fostering our collective unity and discipline as a political party.
“We once more restate our commitment to remain in the vanguard of Governor Soludo’s laudable transformation initiatives geared towards providing a new political and social order in public service delivery and inspiring a liveable and prosperous homeland for Anambra people.”
The Communique was signed by 26 Anambra APGA SWC members and 21 APGA LGA Chairmen.
