Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman inspired his team, Atalanta, to an emphatic victory over Napoli, as they scored three past Napoli during the 11th game of Serie A at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, Naples, Italy.
Lookman scored a brace in the 10th and 13th minutes, respectively, then Mateo Retegui completed the 3-0 win for Atalanta in the dying minutes.
Lookman’s brace brings his goal involvement in the league this season to 10 for Atalanta after 8 league games. He was voted Man of the Match following his tremendous performance this afternoon.
Atalanta are unbeaten in their last five Serie A games and have moved up to second place on the league table, just three points behind league leaders Napoli.
In the recent Ballon d’Or awards, the 27-year-old finished 14th in the ranking of the best players in the world and was also nominated among the 10 players who will compete for the 2024 African Footballer of the Year Award this December.
