You Are That Womb!

Ahead of Father's day part10
Jarlath Opara

Happy mothers’ day to mothers, real mothers not women and wives, but mothers whose values, virtues and morals are beyond reproach.

Happy mothers’ day to mothers who live through the rough edges of life without faulting and “loose guarding”. To you who endured and still enduring, sacrificed and still sacrificing, bearing happily the burden of motherhood.

To you mothers who deal with the drunk and depraved husbands, loving them, respecting and honouring them regardless, happy mothers’ day!

To you who deal with the pains and pangs of adulterous husbands, who beat, starve and misbehave, Happy mothers’ day.

To you who deny yourselves of the trending fashion to give future to your children, support your husbands grow and make your houses homes, happy mothers’ day!

To you who endured and still enduring the entrigues, manipulations, hates and unfriendly dispositions of some mother and sister in- laws, showing them love and care instead, happy mothers’ day!

To you who pray in and out of sessions, lifting their families in prayers, going the extra miles even when it pains and hurts, happy mothers’ day!

To you who put your feet down, insisting on virtues, values and morals on their children without undue indulgence, happy mothers’ day!

You are not a life giver, you are not a manual, you are that womb that sustains and incubates lives, birth them, rocking the cradle, shielding them from the devouring influence of the perversions of the world order.

Indeed you are clear lenses, an executive summary of what kind of home you either built, building, destroyed or destroying. A look at you reveals a lot.

Like hens that brood on their chicks from the roaring eyes of a kite, so do mothers . As Eagles fly up and down, looking for food for their Eaglets so do mothers.

You are that Womb that sustains life, the Deborah, the mother in Israel who stands in the gap, uplifting Nations.

We celebrate motherhood, so indispensable, nothing seems to work in its absence.

Today is mothers’ day! Celebrating wombs that encubate life. You are not only wives, women and mothers. You are much more, beacons of hope to younger generations. Miss your steps in values, morals, ethics, piety and integrity, millions watching you for directions miss theirs too.

Dress indecently and many watching you would follow suit. Your lives aren’t yours alone, many destines are tied to them. Living above reproach, the mandate in the manual of real mothers who worth more than rubies.

Happy mothers’ day to our mothers, wives, sisters, aunties, cousins, nieces, daughters and friends. One woman who is a real mother, replicates herself in many others . Know this mothers and be that example worthy of emulation. Be that Pauline Einstein who pulled Albert Einstein from the valley of academic dumbness to the realm of excellence. Be a Monica, the mother of St Augustine who prayed him out of moral depravity into the glow and glint of spiritual bliss. Be a Mary who went through the agony experience with Jesus, with a pierced heart, ruminating all in prayer, love and suplication. Never be a Jezebel or a Delilah the bruises and blow it would cause to your generation unimaginable.
