X Adjusts API Pricing, Introduces Annual Plans

—

Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, has revamped its API pricing structure and introduced annual subscription options.

The cost for the basic API tier has risen from $100 to $200 per month, alongside enhanced limits and new features for subscribers.

The new plan will increase the read limit for developers from 10,000 to 15,000 requests.

In addition, X is adding new endpoints, including ones for reposts and community searches, aimed at enhancing user engagement and development capabilities.

Despite the changes, there appears to be a discrepancy on the API comparison and purchase pages, which still reflect the old limits.

X has not yet addressed this inconsistency publicly.

An experimental read API is also being launched for users on the free tier; however, it is worth noting that post limits for this tier have dropped from 1,500 to 500, with read requests capped at 100.

To encourage long-term commitments, X now offers annual plans for its Basic and Pro tiers.

The Basic annual subscription costs $2,100, while the Pro plan is priced at $54,000.

Earlier this year, the platform had introduced a system for purchasing additional limits on read and post requests, but developers are now restricted to just two top-ups per month for both API tiers.
