President Tinubu motivates Super Eagles before match with Angola

—

In preparation for their crucial quarter-final match against Angola in the Africa Cup of Nations today, the Super Eagles received words of encouragement from President Bola Tinubu.

Even though he is currently on a private visit to France, President Tinubu took the time to address the team through a video call, shared on his son Seyi Tinubu’s Instagram page.

This motivational boost comes on the heels of the Super Eagles’ impressive 2-0 victory over Cameroon, securing their spot in the knockout stages.

Notably, the principal officers and members of the joint sports committees in the National Assembly are showing their unwavering support by planning to travel to Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, to cheer for the team in person.

Senator Kawu Sumaila, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance and announced the lawmakers’ intention to be present at the quarter-finals.

He shared, “I am pleased with the Nigerian team’s performance in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

The principal officers of the National Assembly and the two Committees on Sports will also be in Cote d’Ivoire to watch the quarter-finals against Angola.”

In addressing the speculations surrounding coach Jose Peseiro’s future, Senator Sumaila assured that decisions about the coach’s future would be considered after the competition.

Confident in the Super Eagles’ success, he stated, “We will look at it after the competition; I am sure of victory for the Super Eagles against Angola.”
