—

Yakubu Shonono has been arrested by troops of Operation Safe Haven for the alleged murder of a Mobile Police Officer in Plateau State.

The News Chronicle gathered that the Mobile Police Officer was attached to the Military Task Force responsible for maintaining peace in the crisis-prone Bokkos LGA of the state.

Confirming the incident on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, Captain Oya James, spokesperson for the Military Task Force, stated that the suspect was arrested along with fourteen others. These individuals were accused of engaging in various forms of criminal activities, including kidnapping, drug peddling, arms dealing, cattle rustling, and farm destruction.

Captain Oya further disclosed that the Military Task Force, in a joint operation with operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has made notable arrests in recent weeks. While emphasizing that the suspects would face legal proceedings, Oya expressed satisfaction with the support received from residents, which has aided in the arrest of these individuals.

Recall that on November 6, 2023, troops arrested Bulus Alamba and Dennis Yohanna in Fang village, Riyom LGA of Plateau State, for the alleged murder of Abdulkarim Saidu on October 24, 2023
