Nigeria Misses Out as Tyla Wins African Category at 2026 Grammy Awards

South African singer Tyla, for the second time in a row has won the Best African Music Performance award at the 68th Grammy Awards, held on Sunday night at the Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, becoming the only African artiste to claim a Grammy at the 2026 ceremony.

Tyla received the award for her song “Push 2 Start,” beating four other nominees in the category. They were Burna Boy with “Love,” Davido featuring Omah Lay with “With You,” Ayra Starr featuring Wizkid with “Gimme Dat,” and Eddy Kenzo & Mehran Matin with “Hope & Love.”
