Nasarawa govt. appoints new scribe

Nasarawa state governor, Abdullahi A. Sule, has appointed Barr. Muhammad Ubandoma Aliyu, as the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa state, effective June 10, 2020.

In a statement signed by the Director-General, Strategic Communications and Press Affairs to the Governor of Nasarawa state, Yakubu Lamai, said the new SGS will be responsible for assisting the government to achieve its vision and objectives through the provision of advice and guidance.

“He has overarching responsibility for handling government policy and superintending over the implementation of decisions and operations of government ministries, agencies and parastatals in Nasarawa state”.

According to the statement, Aliyu has a Bachelor of Science degree in 1986 from the University of Maiduguri and Bachelor of Law degree obtained in 1997 from the University of Jos.

He was Senior Clerical Officer in the Bank of the North LTD. from 1980, Education Officer II, Ministry of Education, Plateau state from 1988-1992 before becoming Executive Chairman of Lafia LGC from 1999 to 2002.

He served as a partner in the Doka Chambers Lafia and Principal Partner in the Law firm of MU Aliyu and Co, as well as Atafi Chambers Lafia from 2008 until his recent appointment as Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government.

He was described as a “well cultivated, highly intelligent and multi-faceted law officer, technocrat and titled community leader who has held the position of Director in Nasarawa Investment and Property Development Company”.

“Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule has affirmed his confidence in the proven capacity, illustrious track record and tested the integrity of Barr. Muhammad Ubandoma Aliyu to serve with competence, unalloyed loyalty and unbridled sense of purpose”, the statement concluded.
