On Wednesday, Miss Teen USA UmaSofia Srivastava announced she was resigning from her title, just days after Miss USA Noelia Voigt stepped down.

Srivastava shared the news via Instagram, stating, “After months of grappling with this decision, I have made the choice to resign from the title of Miss Teen USA 2023.”

She continued, explaining, “My personal values no longer fully align with the direction of the organization.”

This development occurred following Voigt’s resignation earlier in the week, where she stated mental health struggles as the reason for her departure.

Voigt’s Instagram post advised, “Prioritize your mental health, advocate for yourself and others by using your voice, and never be afraid of what the future holds, even if it feels uncertain.”

The Miss Teen USA organization expressed support for Srivastava’s decision, announcing that a successor would be named soon. The organization also acknowledged Voigt’s resignation, stating, “The well-being of our titleholders is a top priority.”

The resignations come amidst broader organizational changes, including the departure of Claudia Michelle, the Miss USA organization’s social media director, who cited workplace toxicity and bullying. Michelle remarked, “I disavow workplace toxicity and bullying of any kind.”

Laylah Rose, CEO and president of the Miss USA organization also emphasized the importance of individuals’ well-being associated with Miss USA, stating, “the well-being of all individuals associated with Miss USA is my top priority.”

As the organization reviews plans for the transition of responsibilities, they assure that an announcement regarding successors will be made soon.
