The Federal Government has caught several prisoners who escaped from the Suleja Custodial Centre last month when heavy rain caused the perimeter fence to collapse.Â
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this announcement while inspecting security projects at the Medium Security Custodial facility in Kuje, Abuja, on Thursday, May 9, 2024.
Over 115 inmates fled during the incident. The minister reassured the public that measures are being implemented to improve infrastructure and security procedures at all correctional facilities across the country to prevent similar breaches in the future.
