Igbo Youths Vow to Spare no Efforts in Giving Iwuanyanwu Befitting Burial

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing Worldwide has outlined programs aimed at celebrating the great legacies of the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.

National Leader of the Ohanaeze Youth Wing, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu in a statement said youths across Igbo land were planning big for the upcoming funeral of the elderstateman who died on July, 25, 2024.
He said the group believed it owed the late icon, an epochal farewell because of his inimitable influence in the lives of thousands of Igbo youths, especially, the Ohanaeze Youth Wing.
He added that it would be a great disappointment if the youths did not come together to accord him a befitting honour.
In his words, “Ahaejiagamba was not just the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, he was also a father figure to many of us. His efforts towards reviving and sustaining the Youth Wing of the apex Igbo sociocultural organisation are immense, and it would be a great disappointment if the youths do not come together to accord him a befitting honour.”
Okpalaezeukwu praised the Southeast Governors’ Forum under the leadership of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, for their commendable investments in organising a befitting funeral for the Igbo legend, and assured that whatever the youth wing is doing is just a token of appreciation to a man who did a lot for them within his brief stint as the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide President-General, and also as a way of complimenting whatever the governor of Imo State and his colleagues are doing.
“We are happy that the Southeast Governors’ Forum have set in motion programs for the funeral of our dear father, and we are proud of the commitment of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, the governor of Imo State and Chairman of Southeast Governors’ Forum.
“It is important to put it on record that the Imo State governor has been very supportive of Ohanaeze activities since the inception of his administration in 2020, and we are grateful to him and all the other governors of the Southeast, especially.”
“Among the programs proposed by the youth body in honour of the late billionaire and philanthropist are; Igbo Youth Summit and Day of Tributes, production of a docufilm, candlelight vigil and a mourning procession in honour of the legend.
“According to the family, Chief Iwuanyanwu will be laid to rest on the 1st of November, 2024 at his country home in Atta, Ikeduru LGA of Imo State,” the statement added.
