Nigerian-American music sensation David Adeleke, known to the world as Davido, recently left fans baffled as he claimed not to know who Big Brother Naija star Phyna is.
Phyna, who clinched victory in the 2022 season of the reality TV show, found herself at the center of this social media storm.
The controversy erupted when Davido liked a post by a troll that disparagingly referred to Phyna’s fans as “useless.”
Responding to Davido’s unexpected endorsement of the troll’s comment, Phyna expressed her dismay in two separate posts on social media.
In her posts, she wrote, “Wetin I do @davido 😩 Na wah oh, The hate is real….., Congratulations on your twins sha. I am being myself as much as I can be, but narratives of me being a bad person are what people like to carry around. Enough of all this, if an A-list personality can like a tweet of a troll, that’s a bad tag on me. Blogs already carried that, even if they later deleted it, the deed had been done. Let the trolls and those who don’t like me chill; I’m not the one holding the air that you breathe… please.”
In response to Phyna’s posts and her evident frustration, Davido clarified his stance, writing, “Thank you love ❤️, but I actually don’t know who you are… and it was an honest mistake… no vex.”
