Governor Bago Suspends Vice Chancellor of IBB University, Lapai

—

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has announced the immediate suspension of Professor Abu Kasim Adamu, Vice Chancellor of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.

The governor directed Professor Adamu to hand over his duties to the next senior professor at the institution.

Though Professor Adamu’s tenure was set to end in two months, he was suspended over allegations of insubordination and disregard for authority.

University sources confirmed that Professor Ibrahim has been appointed as Acting Vice-Chancellor.

Reports also indicate that the suspended vice-chancellor has faced ongoing disputes with university union bodies over accusations of heavy-handed management.
