A high court in Accra, Ghana, has authorized the sale of two mansions belonging to former Chelsea and Ghanaian midfielder Michael Essien due to his inability to repay loans from banks and other financial institutions.
Following a recent ruling against him, the Deputy Sheriff of the high court on June 12, 2024, authorized the sale of the properties.
According to the Daily Guide, the two mansions are located at Stephen Quarshie Crescent, East Legon, House Number 9, and House Number 204/205, Trassaco (Phase 2), Adjiringano in Accra.
Essien, who was famously known for playing for Chelsea, also represented Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Lyon before retirement.
