FG to Integrate Technology into Education

—

Vice President Kashim Shettima has announced that the Federal Government will integrate technology into Nigeria’s education infrastructure to enhance learning outcomes.
This statement was made during a meeting with the World Bank Nigeria team at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The initiative is aimed at addressing human capacity and resource challenges in the education sector.
Shettima referenced India’s success with KYAN Smart Class technology, which has improved learning for 50,000 rural pupils, suggesting similar solutions for Nigeria.
Shettima called for a comprehensive education reform involving infrastructure upgrades, teacher training, and stakeholder collaboration, particularly with state governors.
World Bank’s Country Director for Nigeria, Dr. Ndiame Diop, emphasized the bank’s focus on improving governance, healthcare, and education through the HOPE (Human Capital Operations for Prosperity and Equity) projects.
These projects aim to strengthen these sectors at sub-national levels using result-based financing.
