Davido Fans Will Not Understand My Music – Odumodu Blvck

Nigerians have been taken aback by Odumodublvck’s admission of why he turned down singer Davido’s invitation. People are still shocked that Odumodu can refuse an initiation from the 001 of the 30BG gang.

However he clarified that he didn’t think Davido’s music would appeal to the majority of his fan base, which consists of Afrobeats lovers so he made the decision to concentrate on musicians who share his vision instead. Which is doing great by the way.

The up-and-coming rapper stressed that Teezee, BOJ, and Sholzy who all had sounds and styles that were very similar to his were the keys to getting into the UK market and if wanted to get a better stand in the industry he had to go with them.

Odumodublvck made the decision to work with these musicians and advance his career in the UK music industry after seeing the possibility of success on a global scale.

He had this to say:

“In 2019, someone said we should go to Lagos and meet Davido. But I was like, ‘What will Davido do for me?’

Even if Davido takes me to America and puts me on stage and I am rapping my stuff, his fans will not understand because they are Afrobeats fans.

“But these guys: Teezee, BOJ, and Sholz, are the pipeline to the UK market. And those are the closest guys I sound like internationally. So why do not I follow that route to get to wherever I want to get to?

“I was like, I do not need Davido for anything now. Let me follow people who align with my vision. And that was how we just came together and we are here now. Number one in the country against all odds.”
