The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, June 5, 2026, reserved ruling on the bail application filed by social media influencer Blessing CEO, whose legal name is Okoro Blessing Nkiruka.
Justice D.I. Dipeolu fixed June 9, 2026, for ruling after hearing submissions from the defense and prosecution.
The case is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Blessing CEO is facing a two-count charge of:
- Obtaining money by false pretense
- Stealing
The EFCC alleges she obtained ₦36,000,000 from a complainant between July 14 and July 17, 2024, under the claim of arranging a six-bedroom duplex for rent in Lekki, Lagos State.
The prosecution maintained that the matter is a criminal case and should proceed despite any appeal for repayment.
The defense informed the court that part of the money had been refunded and requested time to conclude settlement discussions. The court declined to terminate the case on that basis and instead reserved ruling on bail.
Following the court update, reactions on social media have been divided.
Some users focused on the seriousness of the allegations. One user wrote on X: “E don cast for am. That mouth of deceit.”
Others reacted with sarcasm toward the situation. A comment read: “This lady is truly balling. Being in the custody of the EFCC is one of the best experiences in life.”
Another user questioned institutional priorities, writing: “Criminal organization.. Where is Yahaya Bello?”
There were also critical remarks about the EFCC’s focus. A user stated: “EFCC una suppose also catch bandits because na part of financial crime.”
Some users expressed indifference or confusion about the agency’s role, with one comment reading: “What’s EFCC work???”
Blessing CEO is known for her content on relationships and lifestyle advice. She has previously faced public controversy involving disputed claims and online criticism.
The Federal High Court will deliver its ruling on the bail application on June 9, 2026.
Until then, the matter remains before the court, and the defendant’s bail status is pending determination.
