A group of female traders have reportedly detained a police officer after he pursued a suspected offender into a market, where goods belonging to some traders were allegedly knocked over and damaged.
According to witnesses, the suspect managed to escape from the market while the traders confronted the police officer who had followed him.
The traders reportedly grabbed the officer by his uniform and demanded that he compensate them for the goods they claimed were damaged and scattered during the pursuit.
In a video obtained by The News Chronicle on Wednesday, the incident attracted the attention of other people in the market, as the traders insisted that the officer should pay for the losses caused during the chase.
The identity of the suspect and the exact value of the damaged goods were not immediately known.
