On Monday, 24 November, Nigerian actor and content creator Odira Nwobu was reported dead.
The announcement was made by blogger and fellow content creator Awuzie Frankline in a Facebook post, which included a video showing Nwobu lying unresponsive.
Frankline did not provide verified details on the circumstances of the alleged death.
In one post, he wrote:
“God Why! ODIRA why leave us… The Call I received now was not a good one. #Odiegwu.”
He added in another post:
“You were full of life even some hours ago in South Africa, and you even had your thanksgiving service just a few months ago. Many people came to celebrate with you. How can you return from South Africa lifeless? Honestly, I am drowning in tears. Death is Rude. I am heartbroken.”
Another content creator, Evan Okoro, also shared a reaction on Facebook, posting a photograph of Nwobu and writing:
“How no I can’t believe this nooooo.”
The posts suggest that Nwobu may have died hours after a night out in South Africa over the weekend. However, no official confirmation has been released by his family or authorities, and the circumstances of his death remain unverified.
Earlier in the year, Nwobu was reportedly involved in a serious car accident, which was widely circulated online through a video showing bystanders helping victims from the wreckage.
Odira Nwobu is known for his work as a Nigerian actor and content creator, producing comedy and skits that gained attention across social media platforms.
