For students and teachers of the prestigious Community Secondary School, Ozubulu, fondly known as “Ozubulu Boys’,” the memories created on Friday 26th July 2024 will linger for decades to come as they held a momentous Prize Giving Day, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history.
The day began with a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting, providing an interactive platform for parents to engage with the newly appointed Principal, Mrs. Ifeoma Doris Obi. During the session, issues such as the importance of good parenting, teamwork in raising children, lateness, indiscipline, and improper dressing were discussed.
Mrs. Obi, in her inaugural address, emphasized the vital role of education in societal change and the importance of community involvement in the academic development of their children. She sued for the parents’ cooperation to enable her to achieve success during her time in the school.
The zenith of the day’s activities was the award of cash and certificates to best-performing students and teachers. The best student for each subject in each class received a Certificate of Achievement and a cash prize of N5000. Six teachers who emerged the best in the school in different categories also received Certificates of Achievement and a cash prize of N10,000 each.
Remarkably, the awards were sponsored by renowned scholar, Professor Jideofor Adibe.
