APC Congress: Parallel Congresses Hold in Enugu LG

 

Awka – The All Progressive Congress (APC), over the weekend, held two parallel congresses for elective party executive positions within Enugu South Local Government Area.

The two congresses monitored by TNC correspondent, were very peaceful and were witnessed by various security agencies, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials and APC officials as well.

The two parallel congresses witnessed the election of 27 offices and four local government delegates, which was generally on consensus and unopposed voting.

One of the congresses held at Community Primary School, Ugwuaji in Awkunanaw, and  produced Mr Friday Nnanna, as a consensus and opposed Chairman with 336 votes

In the other congress held at Final Point Event Centre, Amechi by Enugu – Port Harcourt Expressway, and produced Mr Mike Ogbonna as a consensus and opposed Chairman with 169 votes.

Earlier, outgoing APC Caretaker Chairman of the council area, Mr Kevin Ezeoha, expressed profound gratitude to leaders of the party in the council area, Chief Hyacinth Ngwu, Chief Chime Edeh, Chief Silas Ogbodo and many others.

According to Ezeoha, “it has been a tasking time piloting the affairs of the APC in the council area. However, I want to say that Enugu South council area is a work in progress.

“As I bow out as the Local Government Party Chairman and Caretaker Chairman as well, I am not bowing out of politics; instead it is about more tasks ahead.

“I want to also commend party faithful solidarity towards my success which is unquantifiable. I say a very big thank you in moving the party ahead in Enugu South Local Government Area.

“We have all worked tirelessly to see the party at where it is presently. I want to assure all party faithful that they will definitely reap the fruit of their labours,’’ he added.
