Anambra CP Trains Personnel on Operational Efficiency, Tasks them with Greater Offensive Against Criminals

As part of efforts to boost the operational capacity of men of the Anambra State Police Command, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has commenced a special training and retraining program for the operatives.

The training program was aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency of the policemen.

It also involved training of the personnel on shooting range and other aspects.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the training was also designed to equip the police personnel with more skills in crime prevention strategies, and building courage and confidence in confronting armed hoodlums and responding to distress calls.

Addressing the personnel on Wednesday, when he led trainees to the shooting range and assessed the schedule of the ongoing training, CP Itam charged them to be on the offensive against armed hoodlums.

He reiterated the Command’s commitment under his watch, to improving public safety and enforcing law and order in the State.

The CP further warned those who may have been misled to take to crime to retrace their steps as the Police and other Security Agencies will not allow anyone to make life unbearable for the residents of the State.

In a related development, the State Police Command has called on the general public and the people of Anambra State to come forward to claim some recovered vehicles, tricycles, and motorcycles in its possession.

Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, who made the call in a statement on Wednesday, said the vehicles were seized during various operations, including raids on criminal camps and investigations into reports of armed robbery, stealing, murder, forced dispossession of properties, and car snatching.

Owners are requested to come to the office of the State Criminal Investigations Department, Awka with valid proof of ownership for a claim.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the recovered vehicles included; a Space Wagon Passat with Reg Nos: NNE 48 AS, a Golf with Reg Nos: THE 479 AA, a Shuttle Bus with  Reg Nos: AGU 364 ZW, a Mitsubishi Bus with Reg Nos. CN 25 ABJ, Shuttle Bus with Reg Nos. JJT 442 ZF, Shuttle Bus with Reg Nos. AWK 913 ZQ, and TVS Tricycle without Reg Nos.

Others were; TVS Tricycle with Reg Nos. AAH 410 VW, Topstar Motorcycle without Reg Nos, Honda Today without Reg Nos,  Honda Cub without Reg Nos, Sanyang without Reg Nos,  Keystone without Reg Nos, and Honda Today Motorcycle without Reg Nos.
