Today, with about a thousand students , the College has continued to train nurses who play very vital roles in our health sector[b]. I supported them with the sum of N10 million for the training of more healthcare professionals.

Health remains a critical contributor to national development and one of the critical measures of the human development index. I have continued to encourage investments in the human infrastructure of the health sector, which is the training and encouragement of healthcare professionals”. He added.

While urging the governments, donor agencies and other well-meaning Nigerians to join in supporting the training of more nurses and healthcare professionals for the ultimate development of the country, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party at the 2023 general elections maintained that building a very functional health sector remains critical in the journey to a New Nigeria.
