The authorities in Kwara State have detained a man running a barbershop in Ilorin, the state capital, in connection with the death of his girlfriend during a marathon sexual encounter that took place on Monday.
Confirming the incident on Tuesday, the police stated that they are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s demise, which occurred after an intimate encounter with her boyfriend at a guest house in the Temidire community, Offa Garage area.
According to unverified community reports, the man might have consumed substances in an attempt to impress his girlfriend, leading to her exhaustion and subsequent loss of consciousness during the encounter.
Upon realizing the situation, the man raised an alarm, prompting the guest house staff to intervene. The woman was then rushed to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Subsequently, the owner of the guest house reported the matter to the local police, leading to the arrest of the man. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, assured that a comprehensive investigation is underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events leading to the tragic incident.
