2023 AFCON DRAW: CAF names AKON as the draw host

Senegalese and American singer AKON has been named as the official host for the 2023 AFCON final draws that will take place today in the state capital of Côte d’Ivoire, Abidjan at exactly 8 pm Nigerian time.

According to CAF, Akon will be assisted by 5 Times Africa Player of the Year Winner Yahaya Toure.

Current African Player of the Year and Senegalese forward, Sadio Mane, Ivorian Legend, Didier Drogba, Super Eagles former midfielder, John Mikel, and Moroccan /PSG defender Achraf Hakimi are part of the 2023 AFCON draws as announced by CAF.

The draws will be beamed in over 50 countries as millions of African football enthusiasts watch the event on CAF’s Official YouTube channel, as well as across CAF’s Global TV partners.

The Qualified Nations for the Final Draw:

Côte d’Ivoire (hosts), Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Congo DR, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, and Zambia

The 34th edition of the biggest tournament in Africa will kick off from 13 January to 11 February 2014 in Côte d’Ivoire.
