Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, on Friday held a high-level closed-door meeting with the United Nations Resident Coordinator, senior diplomats, and international development partners at the British High Commission in Abuja.
The meeting brought together the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, Mohamed Malick Fall; the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery; the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Gautier Mignot; the Swiss Ambassador to Nigeria, Patrick Egloff; and the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy, Keith Heffern.
Also present were two senior officials from the British High Commission First Secretary (Humanitarian), Abigail Wood, and First Secretary (Lake Chad Basin), Steven Robinson.
The strategic engagement formed part of ongoing efforts by the Borno State Government and its international partners to strengthen post-conflict recovery, stabilization, and long-term development across the state.
Discussions focused on sustaining collaboration to rebuild communities affected by insurgency, improve access to education and healthcare, restore livelihoods, and consolidate peace in conflict-affected areas.

Governor Zulum has maintained close partnerships with the United Nations and other international stakeholders as part of his administration’s recovery agenda aimed at supporting displaced communities and accelerating development in Borno State.
The governor was accompanied to the meeting by the Acting Chief of Staff, Dr. Babagana Mustapha Malumbe, and the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Professor Baba Malam Gana.
