Widely respected Nigerian singer 2Baba is at the centre of renewed controversy after a video allegedly showing him being escorted by police in the United Kingdom surfaced on Monday, December 1, 2025.
In the clip, a man believed to be 2Baba appears outside what looks like a London retail store, being approached and led away by officers while his hands are cuffed behind his back.
Another video shows a woman said to be his wife, Natasha Osawaru, raising her voice at him inside a shop, reportedly blaming him for “shouting at her,” just before the police-escort clip.
The videos follow earlier claims by social-media commentator and blogger Tosin Silverdam, who first alleged in October 2025 that 2Baba had been arrested in London following a heated argument with Natasha.
On October 3, 2025, after reports claiming he was arrested following an alleged domestic incident, 2Baba denied the rumours. He said his absence from a scheduled UK tour performance on October 2 was due to a “medical emergency,” not a dispute or arrest.
In a social-media video shared with Natasha and some associates, the singer dismissed the claims and criticised the spread of “unverified information.” He said, “If una no sabi something, make una no talk abeg.”
At the time, no official statement from UK authorities confirmed any arrest or legal action.
With the new videos circulating, many view 2Baba’s earlier denial as inconsistent with what appears on camera, though there remains no public record from police or court authorities to corroborate the arrest allegations.
2Baba married Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker in Edo State in July 2025, following a widely covered separation from his long-time partner, Annie Idibia.
Some former associates and ex-managers have reportedly made further claims about the couple’s marriage, suggesting issues behind the scenes. But those claims remain unverified and have not been publicly addressed by 2Baba or Natasha.
There is no official statement from UK law-enforcement or legal authorities confirming 2Baba’s arrest or charging.
