WAEC Introduces Computer-Based Exam for Private Candidates

—

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the 2024 Second Series West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates will commence on Friday, October 25, and run until December 20, 2024.

This year, the exam will be conducted using a hybrid method, combining both computer-based and traditional paper modes.

The exam’s objective questions will be answered directly on the screen, while essays and practicals will still require the use of answer booklets.

However, candidates who prefer the paper-and-pen method will have the option to take the entire exam in that format.

WAEC has extended the registration period to Tuesday, October 29, and also opened the “Walk-in-Candidate” option for those who register 24 hours before their chosen paper.

The timetable is now available on the WAEC Nigeria website.

Candidates are encouraged to use available study resources, including the WAEC e-Study platform and past question books, to prepare effectively.
