Media Aide to Delta Governor, Ovie Ossai
In a recent and strongly worded Facebook post, Ovie Success Ossai, a notable social influencer and aide to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, expressed profound disappointment in Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen’s behavior towards Finidi George.
Ossai condemned Osimhen’s actions as disrespectful and unacceptable, calling for an immediate apology to the legendary former footballer.
“Victor Osimhen should apologize to Sir Finidi George,” Ossai declared unequivocally. “He was wrong. I am disappointed in him.”
Ossai, known for his outspoken views, did not mince words in his critique of Osimhen’s outburst. “I’m extremely disappointed in Victor Osimhen’s outburst towards Sir Finidi George. His behavior was disrespectful and unacceptable, especially towards a legend who has made Nigeria proud.”
Highlighting the cultural importance of respecting elders, Ossai stated that Osimhen’s conduct was unbecoming and against the norms of football. “Osimhen’s lack of respect for elders is unbecoming and goes against the norms of football,” he said. “Just because he has achieved some success and made money doesn’t give him the right to disrespect a legend like Sir Finidi George, who achieved far more in his career.”
Ossai emphasized the disparity between Osimhen’s current achievements and Finidi George’s illustrious career, urging the young footballer to show humility. “Osimhen should apologize and show some humility. He hasn’t even come close to achieving half of what Sir Finidi George has accomplished,” Ossai stated emphatically.
This call for an apology from Ossai has resonated widely, drawing attention to the ongoing debate about respect, humility, and the treatment of sports legends by the younger generation of athletes.
