The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has successfully conducted the auction of some of its unserviceable vehicles, office equipment and furniture as part of efforts to promote transparency, accountability and prudent management of public resources.
The exercise was carried out under the leadership of UBEC Executive Secretary, Dr. Aisha Garba, with the commission describing the development as part of its commitment to ensuring that public assets are managed in accordance with due process.
According to a statement by the Department of Corporate Communications, UBEC, the successful auction demonstrates the commission’s resolve to strengthen accountability and improve institutional efficiency.
The commission said the exercise also reflects the leadership’s commitment to prudent resource management while ensuring that obsolete and unserviceable assets are appropriately disposed of through established procedures.
UBEC said the process would further strengthen staff confidence in the commission’s management and administrative systems.
The commission reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability and strict adherence to due process in the management of public resources.
