Twiga Foods CEO Resigns Amid Company Changes

Peter Njonjo, one of the founders of Twiga Foods, stepped down from his position as CEO.

He said he did not feel like he could help the company much. This decision came after he took a break for six months to deal with personal things, especially after a tough year in 2023.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Twiga Foods are now in charge of running the company after Njonjo left. Some people had heard rumors about him leaving as CEO in 2023.

Njonjo became the CEO in 2019 after Grant Brooke, another founder. During his time as CEO, Twiga Foods grew by working on selling goods to other businesses and creating a part of the company called Twiga Fresh, which deals with farming and selling farm produce.

In 2023, Twiga Foods faced money problems. This caused trouble with Incentro Africa because Twiga hadn’t paid them. There were also staff cuts and they missed paying for using Google cloud services.

But, even with these financial problems, Twiga Foods got $35 million in funding in December 2023.

Njonjo will help while the board of Twiga Foods looks for a new CEO.
