Nigeria Football Federation through the Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire have clamped down claims making around the internet that the Federation owed the girls salaries and match bonuses since 2019.
Mr Ademola while speaking with Sahara Reporters today said the claims were false that the girls are only owed for three matches bonuses and two appearance fees
Barely 24 hours after the Super Falcons were knocked out from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co hosted by Australia and New Zealand, FIFPRO pledges their support to help the Falcons get their salaries and match bonuses from NFF. NFF denied this claim saying they never owed the girls since 2019.
Super Eagles players the likes of Odion Ighalo, Victor Osimhen, and Anichebe have all supported the girls to get paid for their outstanding run at the World Cup.
“The claim is not true. The players are owed three match bonuses and two appearance fees. These were for the qualifying matches to the World Cup (AWCON) and the friendly matches played before the world cup,” he told SaharaReporters.
