Sultan urges Tinubu to tackle food insecurity and other issues affecting Nigerians

The Sultan of Sokoto and President General of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has asked President Bola Tinubu to quickly do something about food shortages, high prices, extreme poverty, and safety problems that are affecting Nigerians.

He said this in a statement released on Thursday, signed by JNI Secretary-General, Prof. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu.

The Sultan mentioned that ordinary Nigerians are going through tough times, facing challenges like not having enough food, prices going up, being very poor, and feeling unsafe. He thinks urgent action is needed to help the people.

The Sultan also advised those who are storing food and other things for their own gain to be kind and share with others who are in need.

The JNI, under the leadership of Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, wants the Nigerian government to step in and help because people are suffering.

They’ve been hearing about protests and complaints from places like Minna in Niger state and Lokoja in Kogi state, and they’re worried about the situation getting worse.

They are particularly concerned about how hoarding and high prices are making it hard for people to get basic things they need, especially food. They want the government to act fast to make things better.

They also want anyone who has been arrested during protests to be let go, and they want to avoid similar situations in the future by working together and solving problems quickly.

The upcoming Ramadan fasting period makes the situation even more urgent, as many families may struggle to afford meals.

The Sultan believes that ensuring people have enough to eat is important for their safety and well-being, as stated in the Qur’an.

He also asks businesses not to hoard goods and to lower prices to help people afford what they need.

The Sultan encourages everyone to be generous, especially during Ramadan, and calls on governments and other groups to help those who are less fortunate.

In these difficult times, the Sultan asks for guidance, protection, good health, and peace for all leaders and citizens of Nigeria. He hopes that Allah will quickly solve the problems facing the country.
