Shank Comics Regrets Old Diddy Post After Netflix Documentary Release

Nigerian content creator and skitmaker Shank Comics is facing backlash after an old social media post of his resurfaced online.

In the post, he wrote that what he admired about Sean “Diddy” Combs was his “perspective on the grind,” his “mind,” and his ability to adapt, describing those traits as “crazy.”

The statement triggered widespread criticism, with many users accusing him of being insensitive given Diddy’s serious legal history.

Responding to the criticism, Shank Comics described the post as “misguided” and said it did not reflect support for Diddy.

He clarified that he does not admire or endorse him and called his old statement “irresponsible.” He also said that “the allegations against him are horrific” and added that “victims deserve justice.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs is a prominent American rapper, producer, and executive who was once among the most influential figures in the hip-hop and music industry. In 2025, after a lengthy legal process, he was convicted on two counts related to prostitution, specifically involving the transportation of individuals across state lines.

However, he was acquitted of more serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex-trafficking allegations involving former partners.

He is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence. In addition, several civil lawsuits have been filed against him over the years, including claims of sexual assault and abuse by former partners, notably singer Cassie Ventura.

A four-part documentary titled Sean Combs: The Reckoning was released on Netflix on December 2, 2025. The series was produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, a longtime rival of Combs.

It reviews decades of his career and the allegations surrounding him, featuring interviews with alleged victims, former associates, jurors from his trial, and references to unresolved deaths connected to the music industry.

The documentary also includes previously unseen footage, including recordings of private conversations with lawyers that were made shortly before Diddy’s arrest in 2024.

Following the documentary’s release, Combs’ legal team criticised it, calling it “a shameful hit piece” and accusing Netflix of using “stolen footage that was never authorised for release.”

Diddy’s mother, Janice Combs, has also spoken publicly against the series, particularly its portrayal of his childhood and upbringing. She rejected allegations of abuse and denied claims that her son ever assaulted her, describing parts of the documentary as “lies” and “inaccuracies.”

Additionally, the estate of The Notorious B.I.G. has disputed certain claims presented in the documentary, including statements concerning financial and contractual matters.
