Former Manchester United coach, Ralf Rangnick had turned down a coaching job offer from Bayern Munich just a week after the Bavaria are set to unveil his appointment.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Rangnick was one step away from getting the job but decides to continue with Austria for personal reasons. Rangnick decided to continue his voyage as Austrian national team head coach despite Bayern Munich approach:
“I’m the Austrian team coach with all my heart. I would like to expressly emphasize that this is not a rejection of FC Bayern… but rather a decision for my team and our common goals. Our full concentration is on the Euros”.
The Bundesliga giant contacted former manager Julian Nagelsmann for the role, but everything seems not working in their favour after Julian Nagelsmann decided to continue with the German National team.
Xabi Alonso was also contacted for the role, unfortunately, the Spaniard had turned down offers from Bavaria and even Liverpool. He has decided to continue with Bayer Leverkusen until next season.
