A public dispute between Nollywood actress Doris Ogala and senior pastor Chris Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, has ended following a public apology by the cleric and its acceptance by the actress.
The controversy began earlier in December 2025 when Ogala accused Pastor Okafor of engaging in a long-term romantic relationship with her and later abandoning her despite promising marriage. Ogala claimed the relationship began in 2017 and said she left her previous marriage based on assurances from the pastor.
In several social media posts, Ogala further alleged that Pastor Okafor offered her $10,000 to withdraw her claims and to publicly state that other pastors had sponsored her accusations against him. She also issued an ultimatum demanding either marriage or financial compensation, including the purchase of a house.
The situation escalated after images from Pastor Okafor’s white wedding and traditional marriage ceremonies surfaced online, indicating he had married another woman. Ogala later shared, and deleted, a photograph she claimed showed the pastor in a private bedroom, intensifying public reactions.
On Sunday, December 28, 2025, Pastor Okafor addressed the matter during a church service. In a video that circulated widely online, he was seen kneeling before his congregation while offering an apology.
“Mistakes have been made in the past, and I tender my apology to everybody,” he said. “But everything that was said is not true. There are so many lies in most of the things that were said.”
He added that he was not interested in prolonging the dispute. “I am not joining issues,” he said, referring directly to Ogala. He also stated his willingness to make amends, saying, “I am ready to make restitution to anyone and anybody, any lady, anywhere I’ve offended.”
Later the same day, Doris Ogala confirmed that she had accepted the apology. In a post on her Facebook page, she wrote: “Pastor Chris please don’t kneel. This was all I wanted. Apology accepted.”
While Pastor Okafor continues to deny parts of Ogala’s allegations, both parties have now publicly indicated a desire to move on, bringing the highly publicised dispute to a close.
